One of the things that I loved most about BC2 in the beginning was the ballistics model. The fact that weapons of different types could penetrate to a more or lesser degree certain materials in-game. Other games had done it on PC like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but DICE did it first in a deathmatch game with BC2. Also how distance affected drop for sniper shots was basically unheard of on a console game until BC2.
What I'm wondering is do you guys have any experiences where specific loadouts alter the ballistics model?
For instance I feel like when you put an ACOG or a red dot on a sniper rifle it alters the drop effect somewhat. What have you guys noticed?

I cant say that I've noticed such a thing in particular. I have noticed at times if I shoot a squad members c4 on a tank, and a rocket blast detonates the C4, I get a kill for my MG36 or my Grach, whatever I may have used.
But yea, what your talking about is exactly what I describe when explaining why I love this game so much. Maybe we can figure out some ways to experiment with the ballistics model. Find something to bust in JB's mythbuster forum.

Yeah Savage that's exactly what i was thinking. It could be fun to try a couple sniper loadouts side by side, with stock scope, and one with ACOG or Red Dot and see what up.
